Intel based Mac/macbook ???

Apr 27, 2010 13:55

Does anyone have an intel based macbook or macmini of pretty much any flavor that they want to give me or sell me? I want it to run lightfixer's sound responsive software on my LED wall. Partially broken is OK. Screen / wireless keyboard etc are nice but not essential.

I haven't got an Intel Mac to spare, but if you want to fart around reverse engineering the protocols I'll be happy to help write a linux version.

Sean is running things in Max. there is a linux spinnoff called pure data. If you are interested in programming such things I know frobz has reverse engineered the protocol and has code available.

oh max! max/msp/jitter i presume?

there is a windows version of max (see cycling74.com ) and you don't even need an authorization to run a max patch with the runtime code. the authorization is just for editing patches.. and at that, you still get an automatic 30-day free trial on a new machine. i do love using a mac, but there is no need in this case.

fwiw, i used to teach the max class at massart and at parsons in nyc. i'd super excited to help if you want any assistance! =)
