National Grid Incentives

Looked at the national grid site last night looking to see if they had new incentive programs that I didn't know of. In addition to the 75% off insulation up to $2000 they have this new program - Super insulation upgrades - Deep Energy Retrofit. Do some analysis first - IR heat loss pictures or a blower door test to see how tight the house is and where air moves. Doing the roof itself is most useful if you use the attic, but you might want to look at the foundation too.

I appreciate you tracking down all this information and making it available. I'm also looking at solar panel options ... any of which would have to wait until I have money. Hopefully, one day.

It isn't quite as good a deal, but the people I am working with have a zero down option. No money down monthly lease payment for 20 years.... For the first 10 years you actually make more with the srecs than the lease payments cost yoiu, then for the next 10 it is close to a wash with what you save on electricity.

Thanks for the tip.

That would be good if I knew where my money would be coming from in the future. I don't.

I'm not so psyched to harness myself to long term debt, especially in view of the Euro and global economy crises.
