I never though a meme would be homework

For my degree in teaching support I am currently studying Howard Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences. This states that there are seven different kinds of intelligence: linguistic, logical-mathematical, spatial, bodily-kinesthetic, musical, interpersonal and intrapersonal ( Read more... )

Intrapersonal 100%
Verbal/Linguistic 89%
Interpersonal 71%
Bodily/Kinesthetic 50%
Musical/Rhythmic 50%
Visual/Spatial 43%
Logical/Mathematical 39%

I've read a bit about this before, makes so much more sense to me than traditional IQ testing, and lumping all intelligence together.

And would you count yourself to be an extrovert or an introvert?

It is better than an IQ test but it still has its limitations.

I've never quite counted myself to be one or the other - I need a good balance of alone time and social time in my life, or I'm just not happy. I tend to see being alone or being with those few people I'm very close to as my base state, but I really need regular group social interaction. I thrive on it, as long as I'm not forced into it constantly, and I can get away and back to being alone when I want to be. And I can be very shy and seem introverted, but that tends to only be the case when I'm unsure, when I don't know people - once I know a group of people (or sometimes just with a few drinks in me, being honest), that really changes ( ... )

I wonder if they are linked (inter and intra)? Probably more than the traditional understandings of them have stated.

You Scored as Musical/Rhythmic

You are sensitive to sounds in your environment, enjoy music and prefer listening to music when you study or read. You learn best through melody and music. People like you include singers, conductors, composers, and others who appreciate the various elements of music.

Verbal/Linguistic 100%
Musical/Rhythmic 100%
Intrapersonal 82%
Visual/Spatial 82%
Interpersonal 79%
Bodily/Kinesthetic 75%
Logical/Mathematical 50%

Interesting result. I had to complete a tie-breaker to come up with the final result, but I had to think long and hard to pick between these two options:-

I am careful about the direct and implied meanings of the words I chose.

I appreciate a wide variety of music.

I'm still not completely convinced I chose the right option. I went for the more objective answer. Option one felt that little bit more subjective, as if I'm careful enough about what I'm saying, I'm the only one who's going to know I'm being careful...whereas my musical tastes are an open book.

How interesting. I am finding it fascinating that people are coming out with more than one primary strength.

You Scored as Visual/Spatial

You probably feel at home with the visual arts, maps, charts, and diagrams. You tend to think in images and pictures. You learn best by looking at pictures and slides, watching videos or movies, and visualizing. People like you include sculptors, painters, surgeons and engineers.

Intrapersonal

Verbal/Linguistic

Interpersonal

Bodily/Kinesthetic

Musical/Rhythmic

Logical/Mathematical

There you go. Seems reasonable. The two lowest ones I agree with to an extent. Although I would have said I'm musical\rhythmical if someone else is playing. If I'm having to do the playing I'd have expected under 10% :)

I don't normaly get extreme high or low scores on these things but I'm not surprised visual is at the top

Much as I do love music and have always played instruments/sung, I was surprised to score as highly as I did. I have no idea if I am introverted or extroverted though. I behave like someone who's extroverted but I tend to think like someone who's introverted, if that makes sense. I do probably prefer working alone, but there are some group activities that I love as well.
