I started this, oh, around 9:30 this morning. (I had some key parts worked out in my head, but filling in the gaps involved a lot of cursing at my poor abused brain until it coughed up something resembling a narrative.)I'm sure yours will be great.

Hee! I loved that line - somehow it conjured up all these images of things that could have happened that he wouldn't have been able to talk about to a stranger.
Thanks. I thought a chance meeting was the easiest thing to suspend disbelief for, since canon makes a meeting between the characters highly implausible, and having him be in her college dorm or something was harder for me to swallow. I'm glad you agreed. :-)

I think he does know, kind of. Or at least, I think Connor Stephenson has nightmares and strong feelings that he can't correlate to anything in the life he remembers. Hence the weirdness that lead to the breakup with Tracy, and hence his advice to Dawn.
If ME writers establish canon directly contradicting this, I will be sad.
