Finding the Right Words

I stayed up into the wee hours last night finishing this Icelandic thriller.  Wow, those Icelandic murder mysteries are a laugh a minute, aren't they?  The most unremittingly bleak, grim, horrible background -- AND foreground, plotlines, outlook on life ... I'm going to have to go watch Glee or something, to delete that book from my head.

Ah. So you hated my kidnap fic that much?

Well, FWIW the part I want to bring forward is the idea of Carsten finally admitting to himself and others what he's up to. And telling the truth to his mom.

Heh. Admit it, separate from all the other terrible stuff I wrote in there, that idea has appeal...

PLEASE GOD OF ALL SLASH FANDOMS GIVE ME SOME LOVE (or at least some UST) TONIGHT.

Now now, I didn't *hate* it. It was just so so depressing. It was really well written and it took me right there, so it affected me. I just don't want to revisit that. lol.

OK coming out to his family etc might be interesting. Especially if when they meet Eric. lol. Or if they meet Godric. lol.

I am running around like a demented elf hoping for good stuff tonight...

Soooo depressing. But I'm stubborn, and I was determined to see it through. And then I had to walk away from the whole awful mess when I was finished.

However. Several people said, huh, ASIDE from the awfulness of this, Carsten's mom being on to him is kind of hilarious! And it is. And part of me wants to write that -- because in my AU world, Carsten admitting that to his mom would be (on some level) admitting it to himself. I'm gay. This is who I am.

Plus srsly ... can you see him pitching that to his parents? Ack.

I will keep my fingers crossed with you as well regarding the "flashback" tonight. If it is a blink & gone I will scream madly! Looks like it will be far into their past, but Godric straddling Eric's lap would be more than delightful! I further agree a kiss would be divine.....but hmmmm if they were to fuck (which I am sure AB isn't going to reward us with) that would be more bliss than I could possibly handle....But, would certainly try! Ahhh, if only I could glamour Mr. Ball into giving us the "flashbacks" we need! :)

As far as the Carsten fic continuation, I would look forward to that. It was brilliant.

Wouldn't it be great to be queen? And just order up all the porn episodes we wanted? Sigh.

I think I'll be continuing Carsten, but we'll be going forward having pretended all the kidnapping stuff never happened. And because I'm an obsessive, the issue on the table right now is precisely where I start the thread that leads us there.

I myself had some dissappointment in the episode.....silly me was hoping for a bit more of a personal connection between Godric & Eric....even though I knew it would not be that way. Of course the bond was there, as it's always felt when they are together.....but, not exactly what the heart wanted. :) Regardless seeing Godric again was divine. Also, IMO far too much of Bill Compton! If I was writing it...things would have been so different.

Speaking of.....not so sure I don't need to write some porn myself now....maybe that would relieve some of the depression.

I know what you mean. They took our opportunity and had some costume-y "fun" with it. And since I don't have a uniform kink, it didn't give me much to work with. My heart is going to have to come up with its own inspiration. And at least we know that wasn't the last time this season.

Oh, I just noticed the description for tonight's episode, and my heart fluttered! And sure enough, Imdb says Alan Hyde shall be on the show tonight. Hee! Thoroughly stoked doesn't begin to describe.

Hey, there you are! There were some fine moments of Eric. I don't really have a uniform kink, though ... so that wasn't the thrill it could have been. Less clothing would have worked for me ;-P

Oh yes, I'm around. Just been laying low for awhile. LOL And, I DO have a uniform kink ;) Though it would have been nicer if they'd been dressed as something other than SS officers? Ugh. Anyway, I was kind of hoping Godric would turn Eric over his knee when he was chastising him, but I guess the general True Blood public isn't ready for such things.

... well maybe not their general audience, but that would have provided ME with a hell of a lot more inspiration, I tell you! Personally, I think the Nazi garb showed a lack of imagination.

That's what they need. Some of our imagination...

I was so mad, there was this interview with the cast and Alan Ball and Alexander had this awesome line about Eric going to Dallas for love....
And this gay audience member thanked Alan for having great gay characters like Godric, Eric, Layfette and he jumped on the poor guy with Eric and Godric "Do not have a romantic love."

The best thing was that Alexander looked like he was going to massively argue, but then the clip stopped. It was up on the Eric/Godric LJ com.

Yeah, what's up with Alan Ball? I think he's terrified that Eric will be contaminated with gayness and ruin the Eric-Sookie thing. You know ASkars would totally have been up for it, along with Allan Hyde.

bloodthirstylt July 10 2010, 04:17:04 UTC
Yeah, I know ASkars said bring it on, he had such a big grin on his face when he said that I was like whoa. And Allan Hyde all ready said that he wished there was a kiss in the goodbye scene or thought their should have been.

I am really hating stuff like this and the Eric-Sookie thing oooooh please. I really dislike that...it hurts physically.

Isn't Alan Ball himself gay and it isn't like he had other gay characters in things...six feet under (haven't had a chance to watch it, no tv)

I had to watch all the Godric/Eric clips on youtube since i haven't actually found a site that you can see the episodes.. *sighs*

Norway, Denmark and Sweden are very tight. And also very close to each other. Iceland is That Place In The Middle Of The Ocean where they have hot springs and Icelandic horses and lots of drugs and suicides among the young people. A lot of Icelandic kids do end up fleeing the country. We sort of think they're cool with their sagas and stuff, but can't understand why someone would want to live there. No one up and *moves* there, people only move *back ( ... )

Now, I'm really sorry for intruding like this and I know this is an old topic and I truly am sorry, I just find it very interestig.

I think it's only because we Finns are so jealous of everything you guys have. I mean the faggy thing. Seriously, you even make better music most of the time, or at least give record contracts for the good bands. And you had vikings. We only have drunks. But. Where on earth were you if you didn't see a single well dressed Finn??? I know we have the cases that should have been locked away ages ago but. Were you in Jyväskylä? (Please don't tell me you were at Tampere or I might actually cry blood :D)

I'M SOOORRRYYY I was TOTALLY in Tampere. SO MUCH CAMOUFLAGE. I did poke fun at my Finnish friends about it though, I'm not just dissing on LJ, I swear. :D

But seriously, nothing would make me happier than to be assured it was just because of the heat or something, the camouflage.
And I did see one or two goth girls with kick-ass tattoos and two lolitas with heels up to here who had done serious effort. Just no well-dressed guys. When I poked fun at this, one Finnish friend said it's probably the machismo thing, that basically if you make an effort NOT to match, you're SURE to be non-Swedish, haaa.

Wait, what? You didn't have vikings? Really?

:DDD No, it really is okay, I kind of thought that. And yeah, believe me, I know there are no well-dressed Finnish guys -_- (not true again, there are some even at Tampere, like my friend Santeri, but they are so rare) And machisimo. You noticed it in Tampere, which is one of the biggest cities here, just imagine what it's like at smaller towns...

Nope, no vikings. Well, on costs of course as they sailed on.. the huge sea between us, whatever it's called in English, but no, no real vikings here. I'm still so ridiculously jealous :D

And are you from Gothenburg? So amazing, I love the city. I was there for two weeks last summer and I fell in love and I think I want to come back. The sooner the better.
