Finally! (them, not you :) Yay, what a payoff! :D I knew you wouldn't disappoint. The beauty of this story lies in the way you've allowed it to breathe and how you've fleshed out these characters. Oliver rarely ate a table because it reminded him of the family he didn’t have. We wouldn't feel for Oliver nearly as much without background like this and little treats like of course he's on a first name basis with Mrs. Yates. And he didn't change out of his suit because he wants to show her the man he's become - on his own, but also because of her. That detail was so great.
Their conversation was so perfect. Careful but honest, with Chloe clinging to her reservations until he confirmed his intentions. It seemed like the very second they were on the same page, a weight was lifted from them both and the chapter took on a vibe of happiness. Though even the painful chapters made for great reading, this was truly rewarding, and we're not even to the end yet!
One more thing: ...she remembered the way that she had felt when she saw Oliver get

That's awesome! I'm always glad to make people smile.
Mrs. Yates has a way of sneaking in, but she's always a fun inclusion. And Lois had to show up, so I'm glad you like that scene.
As I just told another commenter, the next chapter's going up tonight... hopefully within the next couple of hours. That said, I am adding an epilogue after all, so it's not ending yet. I hope you enjoy the rest though, thanks for the feedback here.
