Yay, you posted it! *FLYING TACKLE HUG*

This is the best birthday present, I just love it so much. Like I told you earlier, the original was so great, but I was dying to know what was happening in Oliver's head during all of this.

...this wasn't something that he could afford to take chances with. I like the idea that Oliver had this major epiphany where Chloe was concerned after Roulette, but he was scared to rock the boat with someone who was so very important to him and his alter ego.

Even in her worst acts, she had the best intentions... This right here describes them both and is why they are such fascinating characters. They have both had massive fuckups, but their motivations behind those acts were rooted in trying to do SOMETHING to help save the world. Neither one of them can sit around when they see a problem, and the fact that not all of their attempts are successful just makes them human ( ... )

*gladly accepts FLYING TACKLE HUG* Absolutely. This turned out much better than I anticipated. Plus, I've been trying to write this for way too long. So, again, thanks for having a birthday. And I'm so glad you like it so much!

The perk of knowing each other the way they do makes the relationship unique for Oliver. He just got his life back and he knows that he can't be reckless. You see in canon how cautious he is in the relationship, so this mentality fit for this.

Yeah, you know how much I love their humanity in a show of superheroes. Their fuck-ups are noticeable and cringe-worthy at moments, but super-realistic and true to who they are.

No worries on the preference. I think when I wrote the original, I didn't have a timeline associated with it, so establishing that here helped fill in some of the blanks. Plus, there are some noticeable time gaps which led to some creative ways to fill in spaces. I'm glad that I made it work.

*hugs* thanks again :)

Thanks! Good to know you enjoyed it. Not going to lie, I've missed writing them, so I'm hoping to pick up a few fics. It just might take some time before posting.

I really loved it.

I think that one of my fave parts is this :

"Because she knew him. Knew every one of his deep dark secrets. And he liked to think he knew most of hers, as he knew better than to say her cloud of mystery had disappeared entirely. True, it was shrinking, but it still held the pain that was left over from the people she had lost.".

I thought Chloe's cloud of mystery and walls (most in season 9) added some interesting layers to their entire relationship.

Thank you for sharing. :)

Awesome! Thank you.

I'm glad you liked that passage and I agree regarding the layers to their relationship. One of the many reasons I found their relationship so interesting.
