Hmmmm... well, there's cloth and disposable diapers... Cloth and disposable toilet paper should work the same way. :) Just install a diaper pail in your bathroom and do a load when is full. Although, admittedly, I suspect that that Would Not Be a Fun Job, you'll never run out of toilet paper again. :)

I would always separate the plys of the paper towels to "go the distance" on my light duty jobs.
