I am so out of my element in Kindergarten.... it doesn't help that the teacher has very little structure set in place... I'm lost and confused and freaking out about it.
so the secret to kindergarten is to not have structure. atleast not a lot of it. yea a routine ish thing would be nice, but they're still little and need to have fun and learn and paint and eat paste. thats jsut part of the joys of kindergarten.
I don't mean structure academically... I mean structure as in the rules of kindergarten...
There's a time to play and there is also a time to learn. There is also a time to listen to someone sharing because its their share day. There is also a time to not hang on the 6th graders and try to follow them into the 6th grade classroom.
I am going to be videotaped teaching these students a lesson and THAT tape is going to determine whether or not I can be a credentialed teacher... if they dont have any practice of reeling themselves back into a "learning time" I'm screwed.
