It's pretty horrendously wasteful environmentally though, isn't it?! ::mildly horrified:: We have other traditions like 'muck up day' when kids finish their final year of school. The more disgusting aspects of this day include throwing cat food and eggs at cars and people (though really 90 per cent of it is harmless water fights and stuff). :/ Every year schools try to crack down on it but there are always some kids who go overboard. So yeah, different variations on the same thing.
Wow, the TP thing I know is pretty common but the garbage everywhere?? I thought only the rednecks down here did that. Maybe a few of them migrated north or something. Eew.
Omg! I've never heard that Tom/Kristin story before! How sweet was that?! And she IZ smart, memorizing Tom's lines too... you know, just in case. *high-fives Kristin* How cuuute! I love reading little things like that about her.
Lovely art! I've seen the Martha one before and it's still on of my favorites of her ever. I hope that Hep enjoyed it; it really is beautiful. And guh, Tom at the Paleys, looking so... manly. I love how you combined the black & white with the bright blue/green colors. He looks like he's walking right off the screen.
A fan that went to Paley wrote a full account of what happened and was said there. I think they posted it over at K-site. I have it printed and yes, that Tom/KK story was in there. It's a long and interesting read actually. Tom gave proof of his special sense of humor more than once.
Oooh, I'd love to read that fan account. Is it still online somewhere?
I love it when Tom turns on the humor. I would dearly love to see him do a comedy one day. Being the "tall, good-looking" one though, he might be cast as the straight man.

I don't know if it's still online. I wanted to save it so fortunately I printed it. I could type it and send the file to you (a scan would be too difficult to read) but please, allow some time for that. It's six pages long and the font is kind of small. lol
I'd love to see Tom in a comedy too. I'm sure he'd be wonderful!
Thanks for posting the pointer, because I had missed this -- crazy busy almost every night last week.
Oh, I love that Martha art. That was such a lovely moment when she retold that story. (I recently went to a concert by an artist who's 50, and he said he had that "I want to marry her" moment at the age of *12* -- and at the age of 38 he finally married that woman.) I've actually been mulling over writing a short Jonathan fic from shortly before their marriage.
And the TW art is quite lovely too.
And again, I'm sorry about the over-the-top trashing. Sounds like some folks need a lesson on the difference between prank and crime.
I have a major soft spot for Jonathan for the same reason I love Xander on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He's crazy loyal -- the word steadfast comes to mind -- but hangs onto grudges as fiercely as friendships. Maddening, but a mix that gets to me on a fictional level.
And if you have a soft spot for Jonathan in love, you might go for this story. I've got about 1200 words so far, and it is all wrapped up in his love and his desperation to be what she needs.

That's a very cute story about KK and TW. I'd have helped him too! Who wouldn't?

What is 'TP' (aside from trashing people's houses)?
LOL! Sorry, I guess I should have realized that it might be a regional(?) tradition for high school kids to go T.P'ing.
TP - Toilet Paper. They throw the rolls over all the trees and bushes and everything else until it's like white garland covering everything.
The TP part is pretty harmless, the stuff you can't reach eventually washes or blows away, but the garbage stuff was simply over the line.
