Today is the last day of my pass. Tomorrow I go back to Ft. Bragg and sometime in the near future after that I will make my movement to theater.

I'd like to wish everyone a Happy Easter, and thanks for putting up with me while I've had internet access again. :)

So, I've made two letter writing goals. First, I want to learn the Spencerian script, which was big in the mid to late 1800s. The second, I have a goal of writing 1,000 letters this year. I probably won't come close to that, but its a goal.

So, I was picking a book up off the floor of the bathroom, and misjudged the distance from the towel rack and smacked my head right into the corner, splitting open my forehead in a nice neat "T" shape. Thankfully it seems to have smashed the nerves there, since I hardly feel it. Its also small enough that I'm passing on a trip to the hospital. ( Read more... )

I spent almost a week out in the training "box" at Fort Irwin, the U.S. Army's National Training Center. The training was very realistic, and focused on the mission at hand. I have been at Camp Shelby, Mississippi for the last seven weeks, training for my upcoming deployment to Iraq. It has been long days and nights of training, ranges, Bradley Gunnery. Well, in a few hours I leave to drive back to Greenville, and pack the last few things I'll be taking on the deployment with me. I'm sad to be leaving Jamie, but I'm sure I'll be fine once we start training. Lots of things to do in the next few months.
