Fic meme!
This is kind of late, being that we're almost finished with January, 2010, but I come bearing a fanfic meme for all the stories I wrote last year.
I wrote 15 stories last year, which I think is some kind of record for me. Five of them were for Naruto, eight were for Star Trek XI and two were for Harry Potter
favorite story this year (of my own): Bad Company It's the first and only ST fic that wasn't a fill for the kink meme and I think it turned out well.
most popular story this year, in my opinion: Definitely Lather. Rinse. Repeat
most underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion: I have no idea! I think the attention each story is gotten is all fair considering the content.
most fun story: Red Dawn High. It's ongoing and I haven't pimped it anywhere yet (save this post), but I definitely had fun writing it and it's the funniest story I've written this year. Plus my friends have been helping me with it :D
sexiest story: Again, Lather. Rinse. Repeat My first attempt at a full-on PWP.
"holy crap, that's wrong, even for you" story: Arthur/Percy ficlet I blame my sister for this - it was her idea. Of course I sparked it by telling her to give me an idea for an Arthur/Percy fic
story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters: Twisted Lullaby This story made me think a lot about Kyuubi and his relationship with Naruto.
hardest story to write: There Are No Words Second ST fic, first try at writing Chekov, first try at smut...Not to mention the lame title that is only a placeholder until I think of a better one.
biggest disappointment: An Ideal World The story sounded better in my head than how it turned out.
biggest surprise: Untitled Kirk/Spock This was my first attempt at writing Spock and I was terrified through because I felt I didn't get a handle on his character. I still feel that way, but I think the story turned out extremely well, and I'm pleased with how Spock was in this.
overall: I'm pretty pleased with 2009. I wrote more than I usually do, and I branched out into a new fandom. I tried pairings I hadn't before (eg, Naruto/Gaara) and even wrote smut for the first time.
This year I want to keep up with writing. I want to keep Red Dawn High going and to come up with more chapters for Twisted Lullaby. I have a few ST fics I want to write and/or finish. I'm a bit worried I won't be able to though, because I have a few goals that take precedence over fanfic. Hopefully, this time next year I will be able to say I achieved all of them.
