Heh. I think Munckin only really works when it generates player interaction like that. I have a couple of the Munchkin variants, and it's very possible to have a dull game.

We played a 4-player standard Munchkin game on Saturday that took THREE HOURS for no apparent reason other than a deck that seemed to have been shuffled to make the first 2 hours pass as unproductively as possible. That was pretty dull. That's unusual, though.

one new year 7 of us played munchkin, super munchkin and munchkin cthulu all mixed together. it took forever and i can't remember who won.
it's like monopoly, someone mentions we haven't played it for a while and it seems a good idea...

then halfway through i remember why i stopped playing the damn game!

Kyle loves it, so we usually play a couple of times a week. It rarely takes us more than 40 min or so to play a 3-player game. That's without any expansions, though -- I think that the more variants you add in, the longer it can potentially take.

Nice! Yeah, it's lovely that when you catch someone cheating, you can just say "Nice try" and congratulate them on the attempt, rather than having to chastise them. :D
