I've decided I need to take over the world and rule it with an iron fist, imposing absolute order, creating a flawless, perfect world... for my daughters to destroy.

Really, it's the least a father can do.

Remember: if you're too busy to help your children build their first death ray, you're too busy.

Two months.  So much has happened.  So much to talk about; such a paucity of time, words, and wit with which to express myself.

At 12:33 p.m. on Friday October 17th, Jen delivered our two girls, Angel and Beauty.  At birth, Angel was 3 pounds 15 ounces and 17.25 inches; Beauty was 3 pounds 3 ounces and 16.5 inches.  Jen is recovering from the C-section and the girls are in the NICU.  Everyone is fine and healthy.

My recent routine:

• Alarm - 5:30 a.m.
• Exercise
• Feed me, feed dogs
• Shower, shave, morning rituals
• Dress, pack, close up the house

The hospital has a pet visitation program.  You have to get your vet to certify that they're okay, and you have to fill out some paperwork promising you'll clean up their messes yourself, but basically you can bring your pets in to see your hospitalized loved ones.  So Saturday morning I took the dogs to the vet, got the requisite paperwork filled ( Read more... )

Last night, the phrase "flies like a turtle" featured prominently in my dreams.  It provided me with no end of amusement as I was waking up this morning.

(That's in the sense of "time flies like an arrow", not "fruit flies like a banana", btw)
