I can see why you had such fun writing the Buffy/Angel convo. It is so, so funny. I particularly liked this:

“If it’s any consolation, Spike has longevity on his side.”

“Boy does he,” she said with a tiny smile and quickly caught herself, her eyes going wide as she tried to rectify what she’d blurted out. “I-I mean! You are a very handsome man.”

And Spike and Buffy's time together was also hilarious. And this: “I mean, it’s cool. Whatever.” totally reminded me of Danny Zucho (sp?) in Grease for some reason.

I had to punch up that convo because I needed to get the story moving along without so much angst since I'd already sucker-punched the plot with two heavy chapters, so, glad it worked out on the readers' end and that you enjoyed it!

And Danny Zuko is a favorite of mine! I think I've even referenced him in relation to Spike before. I DID! In The Butcher! hahahaha! But yeah, especially this scene from Grease

"That's cool baby, you know how it is. Rockin' and rollin' and what not."

"Danny?"

"That's my name, don't wear it out!"

"What's the matter with you?"

"What's the matter with me, baby? What's the matter with YOU!"

Just sitting here, thinking to myself, this chapter is all kinds of perfect. *purrs*

"No one’s asking you to move in with the guy.” He was quiet for a beat and then, “Please don’t move in with Spike.”"

Hee! That's so Angel.

"“So…what brings you here?” He smiled awkwardly, placed his hands on his hips, then he crossed his arms."

Spike's nervous! Adorable!

I cannot tell you how many times I chuckled at Spike's inner dialog, and his completely lame nonchalance. Also, Buffy's misunderstanding of the term "longevity". “What would Buffy say about this? Would Buffy like this? Would Buffy stake me for this?” *snert*

This is charming and addictive. Sort of like the Big Bad himself.

Ack. I was going to quote my favourite line but I can't remember what it was cause it's four am in the morning.
I think I loved this chapter so hard it broke. I love the Angel interaction and I love the Spike interaction and is this chapter perfect or what? You have this amazing ability to be so cool and so insightful that I want to make babies with you.

Unexpected that Buffy found Angel busy with preperation to move away.
But it doesn't sound as if he wants to challenge the claim. Thought he'd put up a fight.
Mmmh when he doesn't want to be mated to her it makes sense that he won't fight the claim.

And Buffy is becoming Spike's consciousness even if she doesn't know it. Maybe it will make Buffy feel better about the claim thing.
Spike's reaction to Buffy's question was cute (and vice versa) :) (=the date)
