It's amazing how one simple choice can change the tide of things. I liked this, very much. They avoided the amazing-but-emotionally-empty sex and went the thinking route instead, thus avoiding all the destructiveness that occurred following this point in canon. Sweet and fun and romantic. Well done.

There was a discussion on a forum that I'm on of what Spike would have said had he not been interrupted. That one line of I imagined he'd say evolved into this, and I'm glad it rang true. Thank you :D

I absolutely loved this. The characterizations were spot on, the writing was excellent, and the what-if was entirely plausible. It could have easily gone down like this and I don't think anyone would have batted an eye. Really wonderful way to begin my day.

And while I love Spike and Buffy getting to a point of understanding, I think the conversation with Xander at the bar was my favorite part. It was so...real. Not many writers, especially in our branch of the fandom, would take that direction. You did, and it was a brilliant call. Well done!

Well, I must say this is a great way to start the day :D

I thought it was important to have that Spike and Xander moment, since most are of the mind that Xander is not only a bastard, but a simple one at that, and I don't think that's the case. I always felt if given a real opportunity to know about Buffy and Spike, he would have been okay with it. I mean, this is s6 we're talking about--Spike was "in" the group.

Thanks so much for your review--really :D
