Well it seems that today is one of 'those' days ... I finished making a corset for my friend who is an artist - she paints flowers and picked this fabric from my stash because of that .. it is really 'her' ...  In exchange she is going to paint a picture of my shoes - well actually she has already done it...

Idea (might not work):

Presumably the fabric doesn't have enough seam allowance left to remake it, yes? Is there enough fabric on each panel to reach the seamline if you ignore the need for a seam allowance?

If so, what about this:

1) rip down existing corset
2) cut new panels from coutil
3) flat-line or baste fashion fabric to coutil (so long as it reaches near to the seamlines you're fine)
4) construct corset using the method that you know will give the right fit
5) cover the seams with exterior casings in a complimentary colour, thus hiding the raw edges of the too-small fashion fabric panels

Maybe?

You are a GENIUS!!! This is well worth a try! Yes! yes! I will unpick it very carefully just to preserve AS MUCH fabric as possible, re-cut the panels in coutil, and do exactly this .. yes .. I shall give that a good try - even if it doesn't work, it will be a good exercise. And even if I only manage to save the back and front, then it will still be worth while ( ... )

No worries, hope it works :-)

Additional thought: if a single boning channel isn't quite enough to cover the raw edges, maybe try double-width channels: http://www.victoriana.com/corsets/Images/1880corset-3.jpg
