Strappy corset part 1
I love pattern cutting. I didn't know I did until I learned how to do it. I am not sure if it's the process of making that I like the best. My love of pattern cutting is not restricted to corsetry. I would rather not buy a pattern because I like to work out how it's done flat.

Hello hello??
It's quiet round here! I'm getting ready to quit my day job. I wouldn't mind but there's nothing to do, so I may as well make better use of my time even if it's not paid!
Actually I am extremely glad of the shove. Wish i'd done it years ago.
Anyway, just thought i'd pop my head in .. where is everyone??

It's not that I don't talk much, I do .. and I don't spend my entire life whingeing either..
I've been doing alot of wittering over at my blog, The House of Marmalade, -
Party time ..
It's not just actual corsets that fascinate me - constructionally speaking - but 'hidden' corsetry too ... ie: dress foundations... So when I make a party dress it always has a foundation.
I think this is mostly because in all my adult life I have NEVER been able to find an 'off the rack' strapless dress that didn't make me look like an over ( Read more... ) -
Sold!
I have sold a corset! It's my very first 'proper' sale!!
By 'proper' sale, I mean that it is a corset that I thought was 'worth it'. I've sold a few corsets on e-bay in the past. Corsets I've made for myself, and not wanted anymore, but not that i'd consider a 'professional' quality.

It's been another manic week .. dotted with a few exciting acquisitions to take the humdrum away ..
First off, I live near a posh little village called "Woodstock" (of Winston Churchill / Blenheim Palace fame), where once was a shop called "Silken Dalliance" .. What a fabulous name for a silk shop! Silken Dalliance ... what images it conjures ...

Bra topped dress..
One thing I love about corsetry (and I use that in the wider term), is vintage bullet bra's preferably with lines on ... and pink ones. Ballet shoe satin pink ... with black or cream trim, I don't care. And in my new V&A book, there is lots of that pink satin in various forms, but my favourite, is probably the Cathedral Bra. What inspiration!
