Atelier Sylphe N
I've been experimenting with the Atelier Sylphe N. Not really decided on a few things .. I thought it might look lovely with piping... now i'm not so sure.. the piping here is silver polyester, all I had in the right colour. It would be better if it were silk but I'm not sure I like the effect enough to use silk .. not as is anyway ... The black ( Read more... ) -

I've nearly finished the book! It's been killing me the last few weeks because now I want to MOVE ON ... I've been writing it for 18 months and it's been a FANTASTIC journey of exploration and discovery. Another breakthrough
One of my teachers once said to me "In you I see Order" ... I was quite surprised at the time, I wasn't expecting her to say that, but then I don't know what I would have expected her to say otherwise. However, she was right! A new order
Well ... slowly slowly my days are beginning to take on a regular order .. get up, do emails/web admin (while eating cereal), walk the dog, tidy what needs tidying in the house plus a bit more Sew Curvy, and then retreat to my workspace upstairs usually by about 11am ish.

Progress!
WELL ... I am quite pleased. I am still worried about the wrinkles but they are def better and I think they will go with the boning, but nevertheless, (touching wood frantically), assembly has gone without a hitch, probably because i've done THAT MANY toile's that I could sew it in my sleep, or actually in a coma!! Where i grew up..
I'm still not terribly au'fait with this Live Journal business, but I must say, I do like the idea, the community chat is nice, even though I forget to partake most of the time! It does seem like a terribly SLOW platform, but I guess that's because lots of people use it ..?

Well it seems that today is one of 'those' days ... I finished making a corset for my friend who is an artist - she paints flowers and picked this fabric from my stash because of that .. it is really 'her' ... In exchange she is going to paint a picture of my shoes - well actually she has already done it...

excited again ..
Joy of joys! My first proper client came for a fitting today and the toile was good!
I was VERY NERVOUS! esp as she has some 'issues' with her figure, not least that she's lost 5st very quickly! I wasn't sure how the 'issues' would show up in real life, but corsets are wonderful for hiding a multitude of sins it seems!
