I finished reading the "Mermaid Chair". Don't bother, it is a mid-life crisis book which was got oversimplified and every easily went back to normal at the end. bah!
I can scratch Memoirs of a Geisha off my reading list. I liked this too, I could have used the ideas on dealing with enemies/rivals when I had a$$hole as a mangler back in the day and maybe I wouldn't have left.
I finished "Reading Lolita in Tehran". It actually made me interesting in reading several other interesting books. She mentions a couple of Russian authors Narbokov seems to be one of her favorites

I can't take it...I haven't slept since Tuesday. However, pansy boy took off today because he was tired from the maint window last night (2 hours, which he broke all of NY doing and I had to clean up)
We went the the beach for the 4th and I got sunburned (of course), but we had a good time and the kids got along for a change. The fireworks were very nice and it wasn't too crowded since the storm scared off a lot of people

So, I called my dad for his b-day yesterday. After which I got stuck talking to my mother who spent the call bragging about her new furniture (probably paid for by a 4th equity loan on her house) and complaining that she can't call me. She didn't ask about rugrat or my husband or even how I was doing. I really should stop calling at all.
