So, question, where's a good place to find dorky little birthday cards and such...a good friend of mine's birthday is coming up and while he doesn't like to make a big deal about it I think he's an ass and should learn to celebrate another year of not getting maimed in an idiotic manner

Yup. He doesn't like to tell people so that's where I come in...I figure if my first entry was any indication he has enough friends here who would join me in forcing a celebration.

Some people have some bad memories associated with their birthdays. I certainly wouldn't want a party for mine.

I suppose...but I'm pretty sure Harry doesn't have that problem so much as back home he just never had enough people in his life who would care.

I can understand that...I didn't make a big deal about my birthdays either and really only a few of my friends knew back home and they had been around me for so long...plus it's not like we ever celebrated it when I was a child either...

I guess I just expected to know that sort of thing...

That's essentially what Harry's problem was. I don't think he's used to the idea that friends, even the few he has, may want to celebrate his birthday.

You expected to know? Well, most of his friends found out on accident so I don't see why...guess I can't blame you though.
