It was Mr. Patton's birthday? Oh how wonderful!!

My LJ used to be public for all my devoted readers, too! But then some bitches came and whined about the content, so I locked it up. (It was all dudes whining, too! What the fuck!) People must not be able to handle us!

Yes! Mike Patton's birthday should be a national holiday with dancing in the streets and free-flowing liquor for all!

People are just insufferable hypocrites. They'll surf rotten.com, but come crying to you about your pg-rated content.

I hate being tagged for memes, too. :/
But don't worry, if I am ever tagged for one again, I will be sure to tag you next!! ;)

Hey,

I finally managed to get back in contact with an LJ friend who I was seriously worried might have been dead (he has a major health problem and I hadb't heard from him in 5 months)- turns out his Connection was all fucked up :sighs in relief:

I'm still worried about another LJ buddy I haven't spoken to in over a year, though.

I wonder what the protocol of that is? How are your LJ Friends going to know that they're sending updates and memes to a corpse? You could be sitting mummified in front of your monitor for months before the firemen break down your door and find you dead with a rotting container of Pringles clutched in one withered claw...

That's a good question, actually. Perhaps LJ should have a "just in case" feature that automatically sends out notices to your friends list if inactivity registers for, say, one year? ATTENTION! (user) IS SUSPECTED OF BEING DEAD OF NATURAL CAUSES OR FOUL PLAY! THANK YOU! followed by ads for funeral wreaths.

Imagine - something so fleeting and unreal affecting your life like that.

geesh, you said it... it floors me that I can get as attached to my "virtual" friends as I do... it's kinda nuts really... but eh, I attribute my involvement with the internet a direct result of my having no real life... just yet anyway.

aww, I will miss you terribly if you leave LJ. I thoroughly enjoy reading your journal. Plus, we share several friends that will probably follow you to GJ... guess I better start practicing "rolling with it" as you suggested or emo Lisa will want to emerge and wreak havoc.

I'm not saying it isn't easy to get caught up in the virtual world, especially when you have all these individuals at their charmingest and their real faults are hidden to you -- I'm just saying be prepared to let go with a quickness if you have to. Thick skin. :)

Nah, girl, it ain't even like that. If I ever abandon LJ, it doesn't mean I have to abandon the friends I've made! And last I heard, GJ was free so perhaps you'd consider creating an alternate account for a rainy day? ;)
