The nationalistic governments of latin america fiercely protect their right to develop natural resources which they own. This nationalism is directly linked to the nationalistic movements of the French Revolution, led by a political party known as the Sans Coulottes. This group, whose name literally means "without pants," fought ardently for the rights of the french people to benefit from the wealth of the nation. Similarly, the nations of latin america fight to spread the benefits of their environmental wealth to their people.

oh oh oh, and those small children that help to cut down the rainforest for 10 cents an hour can't buy pants because they can't afford to, therefore, they don't wear them. so basically they are part of the american culture, "no pants fridays"

Annually, McDonald's buys so much meat that the United States, as vast as it is, is unable to provide the necessary meat to keep the corporation running. Consequently, McDonald's turns to foreign meat from Australia and New Zealand to alleviate its shortfalls. The benefit to the United States cattle raisers, along with the benefit to the peoples of Micronesia, more than alleviates the small damage that McDonald's could be held directly accountable for in Latin America.
Who is really at fault for the destruction of Latin America is the stupid Latin American's themselves, who are so ignorant that they build damns without cutting down the trees in front of them. When the trees build up in the form of silt they make the damn economically unfeasible, thereby throwing the latin people back into poverty.
The solution, cut down more trees, not less.
The result, wealthier mulattos, less deforestation.
