[filtered to all mayfield school-age girls and their respective 'parents']

Well, tomorrow's Monday, and I'll be your Girls' PE teacher from now until... things change.  While I don't have any teaching experience per se, part of my duties where I'm from consisted of the rigorous training of new recruits, and under my watch you'll all be safe.

It's for your own good. We all need to be in tip-top condition in a place like this.

Do you expect us to be attacked?

Considering that we were all taken to this place from seperate worlds and in the week I've been here a deadly flu strain has spread, mysteriously disappeared but not before killing dozens of us (who've ALL COME BACK TO LIFE, BY THE WAY) and we were offered vaccines that randomly offered varying degrees of 'relief'...

...I would say that's not an unlikely possibility. We're ALREADY being attacked, just not in a direct way yet.

I... I think you might need to rethink that regimen.

I don't want my 'daughter' to come home from school in a body bag, thank you. Or any of the other girls, for that matter.

I'm trying to do this so that NO ONE ends up in a body bag. Just because they're children doesn't mean that... whatever's behind all this hasn't targeted them too.

We all need to be able to at least protect ourselves, and the basis of that is good physical discipline.

I assure you I'm quite serious, young lady. You'll be glad for it if our 'hosts' decide to stage some sort of attack and you need to defend yourself.

Excellent physical health is the foundation of discipline, after all.

B--But I've been demiliterized since 1868! And they'd have to go through Austria or big brother do that that, anyway...

While that is true to a certain extent, that regime is not anything most of us can do, let alone not on the first day! I don't think we've done anything more than run a couple laps.

Y-you call that going easy?!

B-besides that, Hime-sama can barely do one sit up!

... I wonder if she's even going to go to school, anyway...

Of course. I did at least triple that on a daily basis since I was a child myself. Seems like barely a warm-up, to be honest.

Most people don't have that kind of 'warm up'.

I used to be in the military and we didn't have anything close to that kind of ridiculous exercise regiment.

well, I'm in the military (sort of) myself. Except we were training to fight soul-eating monsters. How do you know whoever's pulling the strings here isn't something like that, hmm?

What are you trying to do, kill them?

Kill them? I'm trying to keep them in top form.

Why does EVERYONE think this is so hard?

[has grown up in a military family and has no grasp on the concept of 'moderate exercise']

Believe me, you're going way overboard. Take a couple of noughts off the push-ups and sit-ups, forget the chin-ups and try one lap around the track. That's a reasonable start.

That... seems so insubstantial.

*sigh* Perhaps I could take a few zeroes off the totals, but... I want to make sure these children are getting an extensive exercise regimen while I'm here.
