  •      I just finished watching season 1 of The Wire, and I am glad I stuck with the series. Crime dramas have always been hard for me to get into since there are so many areas of interest covered that I know nothing about; the main ideas never go over my head, but much of what the characters talk about comes out like a foreign language. I've heard The Wire is really good. Have you been watching In Treatment at all? It's my new favorite show. And I don't really keep up with any new dramas; I generally will buy an entire series on DVD if I want to follow a show in chronological order. Otherwise it's mostly excessive amounts of reality shows or Comedy Central parody/mock shows for me...like Lewis Black's The Root of All Evil which I just recently discovered. It's hilaaarious.

Well, apparently the reason why I just recently discovered it is because there has only been one episode...haha. Regardless, I have high hopes!

Unfortunately, I have to watch all my HBO shows on DVD since I don't have that channel (cable ain't cheap!). Most of those shows either start off shitty and get good or start off good and get shitty (Oz), so I like to wait sometimes to start a new one. Plus, it's easier to watch 3 or 4 at a time than to go week-by-week. I can't watch Lost anymore because of that shit.

You know, I may be in the minority, but I'm pretty ambivalent towards Lewis Black. I agree with most of what he says, but as a comedian I am just not crazy about him. I work at a comedy club where he's performed many times, and supposedly he's pretty much the opposite of the guy you see on TV. Mind you, most comedians are, but the whole angry-guy thing feels waaay forced. The show itself was okay, but maybe I just miss Tough Crowd too much to care.
