So it turns out I may have wheat allergy, which, if true, could be the cause of nearly all of my ailments. Typical symptoms of people who have wheat allergy include:

  • Arthritis
  • Bloated stomach
  • Chest pains
  • Depression or mood swings
  • Diarrhoea

As a lactard, I rely on dirty hippy health foods. A lot of them are tasty alternatives to gluten-y stuff. The waffles I buy are gluten free, just because they also happen to be lactose free. They're more delicous than eggo's. It's more expensive, but it's better than shitting your pants ( ... )

Thanks for the tips!

Yeah, the downside to all this is that shit is gonna get expensive unless I want to eat fruits and vegetables all day. It's already hard enough going to restaurants with vegans who have to peruse every item on the menu so I can't imagine how bad I'd be about it I end up doing this for more than two weeks. We'll see.

Also: any time I've tried vegan alternative foods (hot dogs, corn dogs, dog dogs, bacon, etc.) they have been pretty good. I'm the farthest thing a person can be from a food expert, so that shit had me fooled. I don't think I'll mind the substitute food.

A lot of restaurants have gluten-free menus. (At least all the big ones do.) I know Chili's has a gluten-free menu.

Also, Puffins (the cereal) is delicious. Gluten-free and fucking tasty.

See, I was under the impression that a gluten allergy at a very young age can cause symptoms that are so similar to autism that children are wrongly diagnosed with it. All three of the children in this family I used to work for had wheat gluten and/or dairy allergies and the oldest one didn't speak till she was about 2 (was told she had autism, had to go through intensive therapy that wasn't working, etc.) Her mom did some research on her own after getting second, third, and fourth opinions, and as soon as she started cutting out the wheat gluten, the little girl became a different person and almost immediately stopped showing any signs of autism. Crazy stuff ( ... )

i don't know how helpful this will be, but you can get rice flour from most asian markets, and that seems to be just as good as wheat flour.

also there's a nutrition s'mart on dale mabry here:
