Oh my goodness - what a dreadful movie. I thought it was a spoof of McGyver. It kind of was, but mostly it was just loads of bad language and crude jokes. I didn't watch to the end. Why would anyone make such a dreadful movie?

So instead we switched to The Fantastic Mr Fox. Now that was fun watch.

That was a very weird week. Managed to get loads done in the two days I was in the office, though, so next week shouldn't be too horrendous. Now for the unpacking - gah! Washing very smelly socks - gah! Rechargining all the things that need charging - gah! Getting mind back into work mode - double gah!

Plotted start of a fantasy novel on journey home. Don't want to go back to work. Want to stay home and play with fantasy characters. Triple gah!

I think I forgot to post here that we finished the West Highland Way. Woo-hoo! According to the certificate we got at the end it is 97 miles, not 95. Whatever - my poor knees will take a while to recover. But yay, we completed it, saw loads of fabulous scenery and enjoyed brilliant weather ( Read more... )

We are safe and sound in Kinlochleven. 81 miles done, the final 14 to Fort William await us tomorrow. The rain came today but was a very fine drizzle off and on, so we stayed mostly dry. We're hoping the theatened heavy rain will stay away until we are safe and warm on a coach tomorrow afternoon - we will see ( Read more... )

Yay, we have arrived in Kingshouse. 72 miles walked, 23 to go. First thing this morning three wild deer crossed our path, and here at the hotel some not so wild deer are scounging for tidbits. 13 miles today - quite hard as lots of climbing and cobbly, flinty paths. 26 miles done, 69 to go. It was another hot and sunny day today, plus this strange notion we had that the first couple of days are flat because they follow the banks of Lock Lomand ... pah, we were walking up and down steep slopes all day. This morning the path went up Conic Hill - 1200 feet - not too bad going up but very, very steep coming down. ( Read more... )
