Wow. Today went from being a great day to being a shitty day oh so fast. I got yet another speeding ticket. This one from a fat old cop in a shit town in Louisiana because I accelerated too soon for the upcoming speed change. Haiti
I have applied to go with Berger to help in Haiti. I hope that I will be able to go. I feel like I need to be able to do something, and the chance to do something physical to help is really the biggest thing I can offer. I donated some money to the American Red Cross which is what the white house is asking. If anyone else is interested in donating ( Read more... ) -

I am in Louisiana during phase I survey until January 28. That means that I will have to spend my birthday down here ... I am less than pleased. Today I got the lovely new experience of surveying through sugarcane fields, and they are now probably one of the worst things I can possibly have to imagine working in. I'm really tired. I left the hotel in Maryland last night to try and avoid the big storm coming thorugh. I didn't want to have to drive on frozen roads. I had not been planning on leaving then and only decided so after CNN covered the approaching storm ... thus I left at 8 pm. An hour and a half into driving I hit A storm ... Ok. Tomorrow I will be digging through about a foot and half of gravel then another foot and a half of clay mixed with brick debris in order to expose the ENTIRE outline of a houses foundation wall. With 12 other people. On a day that is supposed to rain/snow all day. With a high of 38. In the mud. yeah ( Read more... ) -

Life isn't that exciting. I am working in MD still and there is word of another 10 day after this one even though I was sure that we could not extend beyond our time frame, but hey .. I am making just over $100 a day in per diem on top of my salary. I love this project. I posted some pictures on facebook of the current project, but tomorrow I am ( Read more... ) -
Status
I am currently working in a town named Van Wert in OH. It is about equidistant between Lima, OH and Fort Wayne, IN. Working on the survey work for a wind tower project. This is likely to be the last 10 Day work schedule of the project. After this the word is probably work in Maryland. Oh well. I was enjoying being close to home, but I knew that it ( Read more... ) -

I can't wait for April and we get to move out of this apartment. Of course the first time we ever get invited to one of the parties upstairs we had just driven from Evansville and I had partied the two nights previous. I hate days in which I feel lost. Without any motivation to do anything. Without and drive ... without any real desire. I study a lot ... but there are times when I wish I could learn in some kind of real way. That is what I love about taking classes ... it is such an active learning process. *sigh*
