i hope all of you enjoy your peaceful nights. i know i do, when they happen. and i'm sure emily and michelle do as well, for they have them just as often as i. 'what is she talking about?' you ask. well well my non-mccollum resident friends, the fire drills. so we had one last night at 2:45 am, right? well, that was only the beginning.

There are devices in many places that squirt indelible purple ink on the hands of anyone who pulls a fire alarm. Why don't you suggest they install something like that? I'm sorry you can't sleep because of all the fire drill nonsense.

or, for a quicker and much easier solution than commuting from Rolla, you're welcome to enjoy a full nights sleep at my place anytime...and this comes with a shower that isn't shared with who knows how many people. And the only downfall is the extra walk, but hey it's better than commuting.

they've posted a list of things they are doing to try to stop these. some of them seem a bit irrational (they are going to clean them all really well so they can dust for fingerprints...but what will they compare the prints to?). they have not mentioned the ink idea, perhaps it's to expensive to re-do all of them right now. but maybe they can do it in sections. who knows. we're having a meeting about that tomorrow, so we'll see what happens.

i do appreciate the offer and will let all the girls i see know that there is a man in rolla waiting for us to come down....
