I suppose I need to say that my Mother passed this morning...  I feel rather stoic about it... I mean, it sucks, but it was gonna suck no matter when it happened.  I'm taking this week off from school for whatever things need doing.

I realized on Tuesday that I hadn't seen Comet in a while.  I asked  cguthrie00 if she had seen him.  Last time we can definitively remember seeing him was at feeding time Sunday night.

So, yesterday was my 27th birthday, and it was a good one.  My sister cguthrie00 warned me as she let one of our cats out of the house in the morning to "Watch out for pirates".

So, today I finished reading a short story by Christopher Anvil called "Top Line".  It was originally published in February 1982, and has recently been reprinted by Baen Books in the novel War Games, which was edited by Eric Flint (since I believe that Anvil is deceased).  Baen is reprinting many of Anvil's Works, including the series of short ( Read more... )

My cat is a feline genius.  When we first moved to our house, there was a door to the basement with one of those hook and eye latches to keep it closed.  He started bumping the door to knock the hook loose and open the door.
