...Or not

Well obviously I haven't posted in this for a couple weeks. This is a prime example of my procrastination. I always say or think about doing something, and I usually just put it off or never get around to it.
It's definitely one of my more poorer qualities, well that and my social awkwardness.
It affects other things, such as my art. I really want ( Read more... )

Based on this LJ entry I say that you and I have a few things in common, specifically:

1. Self-criticizing tendencies; especially in terms of accomplishing things, producing art, etc.
2. Sense of feeling socially different (or "awkward," as you say).
3. Mind thinks too much to focus on reading.
4. Doubt of sanity.

These are all issues I have struggled with in the past few months. Virtually all of them were resolved by the idea of accepting myself as I am and learning to love it. Issue #3 was actually resolved by trying to practice deep focus in all things I do; meditation in short. When I read I try to hang on to each word, focusing so hard on the lines of the story as they come that nothing (or little) else exists besides what I'm reading.

I don't know. There's more I'd like to say but I'm probably reading into this too much.

I don't think you're reading too into it, you actually hit it pretty dead on there.
But yea I get what you're saying. I've definitley been working on trying to come to terms with myself for a while. Yea i think #3 has alot to do with having a peaceful state of mind, something I haven't had until just recentely. Practicing meditation seems very interesting too.
Thanks for the advice.
