I saw a preview clip where Oprah said she's never getting a purebred dog again after seeing the horrors of puppy mills. I hope her show makes a distinction between puppy mills and reputable, loving breeders. Bingley's family seemed nice to me; although the dogs were in large, fenced-in cages when I visited, they were healthy and clean and well taken care of. They were also located on a large farm in the middle of nowhere and the dogs had acres and acres to run around and play.

That's the way it should be and I hope she makes that distinction. My parents got our first poodle from a dog breeder who was reputable. I have no clue where our standard poodle came from because he was owner surrendered and up for adoption at Petsmart. I have respect for people who breed responsibly and I am truly fascinated by dog breeds. You can not tear me away from the Westminster Kennel Club Dog show.
