This was great! Gibbs and Vin seemed to have bonded nicely from that long-ago dinner at Ducky's, but... and I might love this bit *just* that little bit more :)... you still managed to convey to Tony how important he is to Gibbs, too! (DiNozzo needs affirmation and approval like most people need air, but he's cute so we -- Gibbs and everybody else, I mean -- don't mind. Hee!)

Also, you Gibbs Rule is totally plausible. Although I wouldn't be surprised to know it's one he's broken himself a time or two.

Also, also... while this one does seem to invalidate "Strangers and Friends", I wouldn't bother changing it. Just call that one an AU futurefic, and let this one stand as the 'canon' timeline.

I like the Gibbs and Vin (and Tony) vibe because they're more playful than Ducky. I'm thinking of writing a prequel with Gibbs set during or directly after Vin leaving the army, but I'll see what people are interested in.

Gibbs has even canonically broken that rule, which is why I wasn't too sure about adding it. But then Gibbs is the type to lay down the law, not follow it.

That would be cool. Gibbs would be a good person for Vin to turn to about his decision to leave the military. However, I'm gonna have to disagree with you about Ducky not being playful... from what I remember of the show, he was right up there with Abby in terms of humour, light-heartedness, and sheer quirkiness. He's very playful... Ducky's a man who is very young-at-heart, you know?

Actually, I'd kind of like to see how Vin reacts to seeing the way Ducky interacts with someone like Abby. Vin would probably be flabbergasted by a girl like her: a sweet and innocent Goth. Talk about an oxymoron!

Ducky is playful, but I can't really write him that way too much with Vin because of the role he has in Vin's life. So writing Vin seeing him interact with someone else is a good idea.

Lovely idea :) I'm always intrigued by NCIS/Mag7 crossovers, and to see a history there is a nice touch. I really like the interaction between Vin and Gibbs, nicely written :)

Thanks. Vin and Gibbs are easy to write. It's a lot like Vin and Chris, just with a side more paternal respect. (I'm a total Vin/Chris shipper)
