So, I've spent almost all of today so far doing paperwork for the job. 3-4 hours in and literally a dozen or two forms in, I run into this page on a gazillion page packet.

Wait, so they printed the Paperwork Reduction Act paragraph, by itself, on an entire page, just to tell me something that is not in the least bit useful?

OK, so maybe playing a hobbit while having to wander through 4 foot high fog wasn't such a good idea...

OK, this game officially has the worst writing ever.

People keep asking if your house was on fire and you could only grab one thing, what would you grab. After much deliberation, I've come up with my final answer. I'd grab the fire extinguisher.

Started playing around with a Tengwar mode for the Na'vi language. It definitely needs to have Quenya-order vowels given that, like Quenya, most words end with vowels. It makes forms of "I" (oe, oel, etc) annoying to write, though, but that can't be helped, and it's a small sacrifice for ending every single other word in an awkward way ( Read more... )

So, I started trying to learn the Na'vi language from Avatar. Surprisingly, I don't think I'm having much trouble with the ejectives, which is one of the non-English sounds. WHOOHOOOO! I finally got orbitals down! I started trying to do this move maybe two or three weeks after I started learning poi. It's been maybe a year and a half to two years since then and I've been trying to get it the entire time and I FINALLY got to a point I can do it (mostly) consistently! Yay!

Ever notice how you'll work unusually hard to avoid working? I used to find that I did some of my best drawings right before big tests and stuff, which lead me to conclude that maybe I was more creative while stressed. Now I'm thinking maybe I'm just more creative when it helps me avoid what I really should be doing ( Read more... )
