Another week gone, and I've gone nowhere. I'm still deciding on looking for work, or sticking it out as an Atari drone, hoping it gets better. It's hard to sit by while you watch your entire department spiral downwards. It's like being chanied at the bottom of a sinking ship. You can see the holes bursting in the hull, you can feel the cold water ( Read more... )

...and for doing so, you get one of my mom's kittens, and my eternal gratitude! And cookies! Lots of cookies...

Well I'll be happy to see cookies, we'll still have to talk about kittens though. Roommates aren't sure it's such a great idea, as we're still testing out the latest installment.

Sid is the newest member of the th0d house. (s)he is a freaky little grey kitten with thumbs that have 2 claws a piece. Mr Kitty's a bit old to be playing kitten games, and I hate to keep animals who aren't allowed a social life. Just seems wrong.

We'll see how the first vet's visit goes (should be doing that soon). Then I'll decide if I need to keep bugging the roomates about getting more. (Mike's afraid I'll turn into the crazy cat lady.)

I probably should have asked this earlier, but what do you do at Atari? It sounds like its getting pretty bad, but I'm having difficulty understanding how it could be all that bad working for the big A... Whatever your decision though, I wish you good luck.

Glad to hear your Mustang is doing well. I think the new carb would definately improve any performance issues it might be having (if any) so thats pretty damn cool.

One thing about the Resident Evil movie... I wouldn't expect too much from it, I've been hearing all sorts of bad things.. Damn you Paul W. Anderson for writing horrible scripts and ruining our beloved franchises...

Right now I'm one of 4 email techs for North America. I started as a phone tech, and really enjoyed it. (Worked phones for 7 years before I started there.) After last christmas they cut all the temps too early and email was way behind, so I offered to help. Wasn't ever allowed to get back on the phones. :( We're understaffed and mismanaged, and there's no way to move up the ladder. It's been over 3 years now, so it's probably time to try somewhere else, but as you said... it's Atari. Kinda hard to walk away from that. I certainly won't be leaving this industry though. I have enough experience to get work elsewhere - when it becomes available.

I just got back from RE2. If you can spare the money to see it, you might not think it's too bad. The script really wasn't anything I'd complain about. If you like/know the RE series there are parts to be enjoyed. Don't want to spoil anything for you so I won't say anything else. ;)

what is happening at atari?8 months before I left club E and 10 months before it closed its doors. Everyday was walking into a worse enviorment, phonelines beening shut down which means no ATM. Light boards being broken all the time. Employees stealing on a nightly basis and having to open the club the next morning with no cash in the tills. Random iteams (like a certain rug ;)) being stolen, on and on and on. Everyday we came to work it was on horrible thing after another. We all knew it was going to be shut down, yet we all tried to hold onto it ( ... )

Thanks for the words of encouragement, I really appreciate it. I think my problem is that work's been my only source of stability for quite some time, and it's hard to give that up. Although the idea of sitting on couches watching naked girls sounds great, I'll move on and find a more comfortable position I'm sure.

Only took 6 or so hours to get the car fixed. Quite an experience, but I did get it fixed so I feel like I "won". I'll post an LJ entry later about the entire weekend.
