Got bored and decided to wiki my mother's town.
Their main website has a central feature leading to the town beauty queen stuff. Apparently they really do take that stuff seriously.

I miss literacy.
So this woman came into the shop the other day asking for help in selecting something that would be appropriate for use in a class. She's an English teacher and wanted to teach a class on poetry. She asked for suggestions for stuff from the Rap/Hip-Hop field, something that would be appealing to her class and get their attention and demonstrate ( Read more... ) -

Last night I saw Yo La Tengo for free.
I have the greatest fucking job in the world. Please God never let it end. Sure I only get $6.50 an hour, but I leave happy. It pays the rest in pure musical fulfillment.
I love it the way Roger Ebert loves movies; the way evangelists love Jesus; the way a fat kid loves cake.
