Philosophical question ...

If you were given the opportunity to forget something, anything in your life, and everything that went along with it just adjusted itself in your memory to still make sense ... would you? And, if so, what?

Actually, I don't think I would. Though, I can understand that some people might have things in their life that they'd want to erase from memory.

I can't think of any memory that I would want erased or adjusted -- because I think I learn from my experiences pretty much as they occur -- but I can sure think of some things that I would love to do over. For example, I wouldn't have been such a wild child (being a wild child is seriously over-glamorized in fiction, IMO) and I would have concentrated on things that would further me in the world. Not that I didn't eventually get there, but it would have been nice to get a better head start. Oh, and I would have saved more money!

There are a lot of things I would like to forget. Like being raped at 12. Or being brutally beaten and tortured at 9. Most of my teen years I would like to forget. Maybe than I wouldn't be so crazy.

I don't want to necessarily eradicate the memories, but if I could eliminate the PTSD that makes me flinch whenever some one touches me when I'm not expecting it (Including the spice -- drives me nuts and I can't stop it!) I would happily remove that particular PTSD quirk.
