50,000 words...
And the story still tells me it isn't done! I'm both excited about this and a little overwhelmed. In some ways I've gotten inspired -- hey, I did 50,000 words in one month! In two months that would be 100,000 words and MAYBE the story would be somewhat complete ( Read more... ) -

Stargate bug...

Kanji!
I spent most of the day (not all at once, but an hour here, an hour there) learning to write twelve different kanji's so that I could write a little three-four sentence letter to someone in Japan. Now I can read the kanji for Tokyo, weather and week, which bring that to a total of five. The other seven kanji I recognize and I should be able to ( Read more... ) -
Today
It rained all day today. It was a light and fine rain that fell as softly as I imagined snow would fall. It hardly changed rate or size during the whole day, just staying the same. On a day that I was being contemplative for once and I got to thinking.... whatever happened to the Age of Monsters? In the older tales and stories monsters were really monsters, something scary and dangerous if not frightening. They filled the night, always clawing at the edge of the light, trying to erase it. Silly me opened my mouth during the discussion group that I went to today. One of the questions went something like "since our time is short, how do we view our day to day life?" It's official...
I've been initiated into the nursery. Today one of the cute babies finally burped on me. =D I had him on my resting on my shoulder with the burp cloth there in case he decided to burp but he must have wanted to keep it clean because he turned away from the cloth before burping on me. Heh, I feel the love. =D -
Observations;
You can be pretty sure he's a college student when he's been in the library from noon to closing. And halfway through reading his book you look up to find he's crashed ON the book for the next fifteen minutes before pulling himself off of it and going back to reading ( Read more... )
