Okay, probably not many people are feeling less holiday cheer than I am right now.

For one thing, I had not a shiny penny to spend for presents this year.  Again.  I know that Christmas is more about feeling the spirit than the giving and getting, but I'm beginning to get rather sick of winding up in this predicament.  Good lord, I was able to ( Read more... )

Hmm. Paralysis, moneylessness, frustration, and the basic wrongness of aging all weighing in on your noble aspirations. My advice would be to spend a couple of days plotting and scheming intensely. Have a perennial agenda and backup agendas, and work out the quickest way to achieve what you want. I find the process pretty dull and vulgar, but it's a bit like building a fortress. If you have a cast-iron plan you'll feel better about the whole thing. Even if your options are truly limited, they can only be limited for a limited time ( ... )

Hmm...cast-iron plan, that's pretty much what Jen's been saying. She's really been helping me out a lot, and, seriously, I *do* have plans - good ones - it's just that I worry that they won't work out right. Because I have the ingredients mixed together right, and the oven's warm enough, but I still have no guarantee I'm going to get good cookies. If that analogy makes any bit of sense ( ... )

One question: what of welfare? As an unemployed adult sincerely seeking work, aren't you entitled? You certainly would be over here.

Not while I'm living with Mom and Dad. >.< While they do make much money, they *do* make enough to support me, and that's all those guys will care about. I don't think they give welfare to help people move, especially when they see I'll be getting government aid.

As I've said earlier, just getting down to the friggen place is more of a problem than the money right now. I have enough money. What I don't have is a flying car to get over these treacherous roads in time to get the ball rolling.
