Over here in the Uk we are encouraged to buy a small desk top type bin to put our kitchen scraps in and to buy biodegradable bags to put inside. What's the matter with newspaper! I refuse all shops plastic bags and use material ones. We now have three dustbins - green for garden and kitchen waste (Collected weekly) and mauve for non-recycleable and grey for recycleable (collected alternate weeks), but people are still buying sacks to line them with! What's the matter with a slosh out with good old water!
