yes, i went to pitchfork last night. yes, i saw sonic youth perform 'daydream nation' in its entirety. it was pretty fucking awesome. there were a few places where it dragged a bit- but it was usually on songs that obviously haven't been dusted off since 1988- i.e. 'total trash' which was kind of a shame because that song is fucking awesome. tried to use the building organ and piano today- was feeling totally inspired, tons of stuff just spilling out of me and i gathered up my stuff- my 8-track, a mic, all that other stuff to go record and i got to the front of the other building and a band was in the room with a bunch of lights miming to songs and filming a video or something like ( Read more... )

i do mean 'were.'
i know they were chauvinistic pricks. i know they started nearly everything that ruined rock. i don't give a fuck- they were brilliant. i don't care if they shot lighter fluid into their veins. brilliant.
