In a weird way, I kind of look forward to being able to talk about how music was "back in the 90s". Not because I'll be old, but because I think there was a lot of important music-making going on then that could get glossed over. Sometimes one of the things I miss most about my past is the old pre-sell-out 105.9 the lazer. You remember, before it stopped being a college station.
i used to say that the 90s started out like the 60s and then around the midway point became more like the 70s. ahhh, the lazer. i used to go to spiritfest and plant myself at the lazer's tent and watch the bands there and then leave. i had no interest in anything else going on there. i remember that fateful day when they stopped being a college station. there was no warning at all- i used to listen to it at work while i was adding up invoices in the back and one day i turned it on and a britney spears song was playing and i got really fucking pissed.
