I was wary about Gilmore Girls too, but burrowed the DVD's from a friend when she said I might like it. Surprisingly I did. It wasn't like I thought at all. It has witty dialogue and interesting child-parent relationships. I like the way Lorelai Gilmore has a very conflicted relationship with her parents and the way it's never really resoloved. They get closer, work through some stuff, but still lose trust from time to time. It seemed very realistic.
I've kept a list of what I read and watch for 3 years now, but I don't think I posted my lists before. I dunno why. I wish I had more time to write about things I've liked (and disliked), but currently that's not likely to happen.
You should totally keep a list and post it too :) I love it when friends post what they've read & watched, even if it's lists only.
Gilmore Girls is lovely, I agree. :) But, yes! Road to Avonlea. I loved it as a kid, LOVED! And when I noticed it was on earlier this year I watched a few episodes and it still hasn't lost its touch. :) I think there's something similar both in RtA and GG, maybe it's the atmosphere?
I've also been rewatching That 70's show and I still find it as entertaining as I did on the first round. Plus, I realized they've made like 8 season of it and I've only seen somewhere up season five, so there's still something for me to wait.
Puhdistus. Yeah. Almost didn't read it, but then I did, and I loved and hated it. I read it in one day, because I couldn't put it down. It was interesting.
I didn't really like Road to Avonlea as a kid, because it felt like "Anne of Green Gables without Anne" (=totally lame) to me then, but I watched all episodes now that it was on TV again and learned to love these characters too. Yeah, both RtG and GG are total feelgood TV! I felt I needed that during pregnancy :) Happy thoughts, happy thoughts!
I love it that I have lots of fun TV to be watched now that I started watching That 70's Show! :) Who are your favourite characters?
Yes, Puhdistus was a surprisingly quick read, even if it wasn't a nice book. Very good though. I'm also very interested in the history of Estonia, because I studied Estonian language and culture for a couple of years.
Now my favorite is Red. Back in the day it was Hyde. :D
Puhdistus almost gave me nightmares, it was very depressing and -- funny how occasionally I like graphic... you know. :D But with it, I kinda would've hoped it was less so.

I also found myself fascinated by their history, particulary because it could've been ours. I don't think I've ever quite grasped the fact like I did after reading it.
Well, I did watch quite a lot of stuff last year, but read less than usually.
Heh, feel free to ask for opinions! :) (Babybunny takes most of my time these days, but I try to answer comments as soon as I can. It's fun to talk about these things, after all.)

I totally agree about Der Untergang! It's amazing. Also, I should start writing down what I read and watch. This kinda list is cool.
