Independence Day is when Rachel was liberated from her China experience (of course she had a great time! But she was getting a bit worn down and homesick). But the pick up at the airport wasn't until 11:30 at night! This presented a logistical problem in that the airport is an hour from us, and the fireworks can be difficult to escape from when ( Read more... )

There should be a law in Europe that tourists and other foreigners are told what it is they are eating before they partake.

I can't believe Rachel's almost recovered from jetlag. It takes me a week to get back on track from Hawaii and that's FIVE hours. Ah, the strength of youth...

She did end up having a meltdown that I couldn't tell if it was jetlag related or that she was back in the home routine and so it's ok to totally freak out about pointless small amounts of stress. *sigh* Now she's at GS camp and I miss her because she only just got back from China. Oh well, she comes home tomorrow.

h_thur beat me to it. I was going to say the same thing about the Black Pudding. Yuck, that's nasty!

That is just so awesome that your girls are getting to experience so much about the world. I'm sure they'll never forget it.

Yeah! This is just so awesome for them. I'm hoping this is the start to some great direction in their lives. Or...at least just a good perspective to lead out the rest of their lives with.

Hi Kathy! How's baby? I'm so sorry to hear you are in a boring computer class. Yes, there are people that know absolutely nothing and instead of making a class be something simple to breeze through, you have to have everything slowed down to a crawl so those people can be taught what you would think they would already know. I've been there. Heck, I taught 2 sections of it!

It'll be great to see you soon. I have no clue what to get your mom. Feel free to email me ideas :-D
