The funny anecdote I forgot to mention in my way-too-long-for-an-uncut-post post (and sorry about that--was at that internet phone and just typing away with really crappy monitor situation so I didn't throw in the cut tag

Sorry, but I just HAD to comment, giving that one of my icons is this, demotivators, one.
I definitely agree that whatever decisions your making for yourself now don't mean you're making your way to work there forever...you might even find that working there is fun! My most favorite job was working at Tim Horton's...
Hey lady, thanks for the comment. I hope you see my next post because I took you off my FL and it TRULY was nothing personal. In fact my current list is inflated by several family members, two best friends, etc.
I don't know that WENDY'S is going to turn out to be one of my favorite jobs, but yes something in my future that wasn't what I had initially envisioned for myself very well might turn out that way.
Good luck to you too! And a big *hug* goodbye and maybe see you later if I decide LJ is my obsession again.
Horay. I thinik getting out there and working anywhere is a great move. Think of it even as testing the waters. Keep us updated how it's going. Or just vent about all the pesky kids around there. hugs!
Hi B! I'll see you around T's journal. I hope you read my next post and see that cutting many many people from my FL has nothing at all to do with those people. You were one of them, but I appreciate all the chit-chat in the past, support, and updates on your lovely daughter!
To you (and anyone else this affects) please always feel free to look me up, send me a comment on my last post (even if it's months old ;) ) and say "Hey, I'd like you to check out what's going on with me."
I agree with everyone else, this isn't the be all and end all of your working life, it is just a stepping stone to get out there, test the waters, and see what you can do.
I was just thinking today about jobs, as I was downtown and there was a janitor sweeping the floor. He was very well groomed and his pants were creased to an inch of their lives and I thought that was great, because obviously he takes pride in what he's doing, even if it's sweeping up after all the Bay Street business moguls.
I guess what I'm saying is whatever you do, take pride in the fact that you're out there doing, and do it well.
And my brother has worked at Wendy's since high school, and still works there as he finishes his PhD.
A stepping stone - and a very good step in the right direction - is exactly what it is. Be happy with this step. Even if it isn't what you eventually want, it is something to be proud of.
When I first moved to NL, I cleaned peoples houses, because that was pretty much the scope of my options. Of course the thought of "This is what I went to college for?" crossed my mind, but you do what you need to do and you have to start somewhere.
