Is Iraq said I-Rack or I-Rock? The news says both but i always thought it was "I-Rack." So i thought i'd ask all of you... i'm dumb.

any is really acceptable, but people i've known from the middle east pronounce it "ee-rock" in their accents.

so with our accents, it's actually supposed to be "ih-rock." that's what my sixth grade social studies teacher told me. and by golly, i will believe her, because she was fricking brilliant and knew her stuff. she's like "I want you to know this now. you will hear it pronounced every different way, but the correct way is ih-rock."
