you have to remember that most conservative republicans view being gay as something evil, therefore equating it with drugs and assault weapons and that allowing gay marriages starts us all on the slippery slope into chaos and the breakdown of society. of course this is pure bullshit.
i keep hearing about how we have to "protect the institution of marriage", and i keep wondering what were trying to protect it from.

As a brilliant rant I read yesterday put it (I'm paraphrasing), "One of the common arguments is that if we're going to be relativist, how long before we condone bestiality or pedophilia? My response: SHUT THE FUCK UP. If you can't distinguish between me and a cocker spaniel, there is no hope for you." The full article.

Before he made that statement, I was actually able to respect his objection, that being that SF was not following due process, and was in fact a city government deliberately saying "Fuck you" to the law, which is not, overall, a good precedent to set. But I don't see this as a gateway to distributing free AK-47s.

I keep wondering the same thing. Gay marriages have been going on for how long now in SF? And my marriage seems to be just fine. :)

Maybe a married lesbian couple is going to come try to force me to marry one of them.

I hope it's a cute one...

Well, they elected a moron.
Unfortunately, many of the people who actually voted for him probably agree with what he's saying.

And the other half of the interview was Arnold saying that the constitution should be changed so that he can run for presidents.

Heh. Yeah. Sorta. The main interpretation of what he said is screwed up, painful, and bigoted. I'm sure he intended it to be that way. However, there is a secondary interpretation that amuses me waaay too much ( ... )
