And at the end of Meet Joe Black, and at the end of Finding Forrester, and in the ER episode where Dr. Green died, and in the E-Toys commercial with the butterfly that used to run a few years back.
After they grew up and Bruddah Iz became famous, he used to holler out "Hey Japanee!" every time he saw Helpful Neighbor at a show or the parking lot at Safeway.
I went to the Bruddah Iz tribute concert at Waikiki Shell in 2000. A video of Iz sitting on Waimanalo Beach (which was Kenny Goodenow's old district back then, when he was a state rep.), playing ukulele, and singing "White Sandy Beach of Hawaii" was projected on a screen at the top of the shell. A halau was dancing hula underneath the screen. A 6 year old girl asked me, "Auntee B, why are you crying?"
I asked her, "Have you ever heard a song so beautiful that the sheer beauty of it made you cry?"
