This morning, I drove Dan to work and went for a run. Then I went to the grocery store, stood in line forever, and then my debit card said "insufficient funds". I knew there was around $1000 in the account so I was freaking out inside my head. I walked to the bank machine and got a balance update: -$1900! Dan's paycheque that he deposited on

oh no! did you have to put your stuff back or did you have enough guts to ask if you could write a check? i always check that atm just to make sure everything is good before i go into the store because that is one of my most embarrassing things that could happen to me.

I just told her to put the stuff back because at the moment, I couldn't think of a possible reason for us to be out of money and didn't want to risk making the damage even greater. I did want to die, though.

And actually, I check our bank accounts pretty much every morning, especially if I am going shopping just in case, but this morning I was up so early and Dan was in a hurry and I (thought I) knew that there was lots of money. Damnit!
