I booked a moving truck today! We move in about 7 weeks. We'll start packing in 2 weeks, once we have boxes. Dan's dad works for a restoration company and can get us all the boxes and packing paper we need, for free. I can't stand moving with random liquor store and grocery store boxes. we had both types of boxes. the boxes we bought were between $1 & $2.50 per box. we probably had a hundred dollars worth.this killed me my husband spent this much on them (though they were so nice)so i kept most of them after i unloaded them in case we moved again. i think they are in the outside shed now.

it's weird when all your stuff is on the truck and youre like "wow, that's all my shit, and i am hauling it down the road". dan is driving and you are in your car with the plants and cats...i can see it now :D

That's so funny because that's exactly how it'll be. :D Me in the car with the cats and plants. I've already worried about how to incorporate both the cats and the plants into the new house! :D Very funny. Although, I haven't written about the added stressor: Dan's parents are coming 2 days before the move. WHY??????? I will be a stress-case and the last thing I will want when we have packed all our dishes and dismantled furniture is company. Anyway. Blah. But that doesn't ruin my excitement...

^ i know the scene because i have lived it out a few times, lol.

and two days before we moved to NC we had jacobs birthday party at our house with everyone over for it and saying their good byes.the pix were down and boxes all over, it went okay though. dan's parents must be really excited you two are buying a house together.

boxes are so expensive! i still have some from our last move.... but got rid of some recently when i got better boxes from work :D people were moving desks so they had all these boxes out, so i nabbed a bunch.

hrm, that reminds me. we're moving buildings, so that means lots of boxes!! they're good ones with handle holes too.

Geoff gets our boxes from his work for free too! His corporate office jsut loves him so the boss man lets us stop by after hours (the only time we are in the area) and snag a bunch. Good thing because I didn't save any when we moved a couple months ago, and we are moving again in August.

Geoff's dad decided to come visit us the day after we moved. Liek we really need company that fast. I was so not about to bust my ass to get things all situated for that!

Make sure to label all the outside of the boxes well so you know what's in each and won't have to dig if you really need to find something.
